OBC Summer Camp 2024/Day 4 then Home
Sunrise to Fireworks
Last early morning beach sunrise to see for a while. Getting up at 5:15 a.m. to be a the beach by 5:30 makes for a long day.
Morning Activities
The regularly scheduled activities continued with quiet times, breakfast and worship.
However, after sneaking an early bite for breakfast, several of us had to head back to Wal-Mart and then pick up the vehicles from the garage. We are all praying for the air conditioning.
Scavenger Hunt – Team Building
Using an app on their phones, the teams were provided a list of things to do as a group individually. They had to take a picture or video and send it to Andy. Who would verify if they met the requirement and count the points. There was a set time limit.
The boys won the race against the volunteer they found. When the girls started asking around, the same volunteer quickly jumped up hoping to redeem himself.
Lunch then Battle at the Beach
After lunch we had down time to straighten our rooms. Everyone was given instructions to drink at least 2 bottle of water each before the Battle at the Beach.
Team Relays
The students were very enthusiastic and participated at 100% for the last competition that decided the 2024 Summer Camp Winner of the trophy. The winning team gets to write their name on the inside of the trophy.Orange Crush for the Win!!!!
Rice Crispy Treats were a Camp Favorite
Why do Bad Things Happen to Good People?
Dr. Steve did a fabulous job of answering the questions that the students presented to him for camp. The students were engaged every session and prayed for and with each other. They encouraged each other through the team building and hopefully made memories and life decisions that will guide their future.
Fireworks and Sand Crabs at the Beach on July 4th
Heading Home
We got a lot completed between breakfast and 10:00. After breakfast we headed to one more devotional time together in the worship room. Handed out camp t-shirts, ran to the beach for the group picture, loaded up all the last of the luggage and left Panama City at 10:00 a.m.
Rolled back into Corinth around 6:30 p.m. Unloaded all the equipment and students before heading home to get some shut eye. It is a wrap for the OBC 2024 Student Camp in Panama City.
