UNCHANGABLE GOD

Oakland Baptist Church is taking a group of 73 students and adult leaders to Cottages Christian retreat at Panama City Beach. Pulling out of the church at 6:15 a.m. in two buses, two vans, and a personal vehicle make a pretty impressive caravan. One stop at Love’s gets us back on the road to Greenville AL for lunch.

Wendy’s for the WIN!

Wendy’s knocked it out of the park with their service and food. We were all in and out in less than an hour. They had the cups waiting on us and over half of the food bagged and ready.

Loaded back up

Back on the bus and ready for the last leg of the trip. The vehicles got a little warm, ok hot, but the kids kept on smiling.

Cottage Christian Retreat

My humble dwelling for the next few days. Everyone is settled in and playing ball in the rain. 30 plus girls and ladies sharing 4 sinks and about 4 showers. I haven’t counted yet. Should be interesting.

Rainy Day Fun

The rain did not slow them down a bit. I held my breath as I watched them slip and slide up and down the court. Many fell but they all got back up.

Best Cooks Ever

Kalah and Doug never disappoint. Dinner was grilled hamburgers and chicken with a side of salad, flavored water and chips. Cookies for desert.

Evening Worship and Small Group Time

Dr. Steve L. Kyle led the first night session on “Is the Bible Always True?” 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness. Music was led by Cory Gann. The students praised the Lord with song and Prayer.

After evening worship the students divided into small groups for devotion and prayer.

Late Night Activities

Swimming, basketball and random shoe issues are just a few of the activities before heading to showers then bed. Lights out at 11:00 p.m.
