OBC Summer Camp/Day 3
Early Start on the Beach
Several of us got up early and went to the beach at 5:30 a.m. to do our quiet time and enjoys God’s wonder in the sky. The sunrise came from behind some buildings but it was gorgeous and the sound of the waves were so relaxing.
Breakfast starts at 8:30 so many students slept in and tried to rest up for another packed day of activities. The heat really takes it out of person.
Not the Average Daily Breakfast
Who eats sausage, bacon, chocolate chip or regular pancakes and fruit for breakfast on a weekday in the summer. Not Me!!
Morning Worship -Intentional “Doing Something on Purpose”
Clarks’s message for the students was spot on this morning. He addressed reasons given by people for not sharing Jesus and then discussed how those reasons are able to be overcome.
KNOW HIM- Everyday is an opportunity to draw closer and learn something new. MAKE HIM KNOWN- Be willing to tell what He did for you!
The morning started with a quick competition that the students knocked out of the park.
Beach Rally/Sandcastles
The team building activity for this morning is building the biggest, best sandcastle. This was one more HOT activity.
Later in the afternoon when we returned to the beach, several more sandcastles had been constructed close to ours. It was a great moment to discuss how our actions affect those around us even when we are not aware of the impact.
Bonding Through Free Time
Kabobs for the WIN
Still not your typical camp food. I don’t eat this well at home on a regular basis.
Issue of Apathy-We have forgotten what it was like to be be lost.
1 Timothy 2:4, Proverbs 24:10-12
Real friends don’t let friends go to hell. You can’t guarantee that someone is going to get saved but we should at least give them an advantage.
Glow Party was a BLAST!
While the students were in small groups, the adult leaders turned the worship area into a Glow World. The students seemed to enjoy themselves. I know the adults did !
Lights out by 11……… ISH and ready for tomorrow’s fun.
