SLU 101/ Day 4 Adventures

Day 4 started off lively. Well, some of the group was lively.

Church Clap

Sometimes I’m just glad to take photos and not participate. This was one of those times. I wasn’t awake enough to dance just yet, but the kids did a great job with “The Church Clap.”

You should ALWAYS swallow the Big Frog First.

We learned that in the land of plenty, it is hard to be disciplined. The longer you wait, the more difficult the task becomes.

Isn’t She Cute? (My frog is a girl)

Each student and leader was given a small green frog. Then we were asked, “Where will you put your frog?” Make it a habit to do the hard things first!!!!!!!

Dr. Robert Smith

Dr. Smith was an amazing speaker with an amazing testimony. One of the statements he made really stuck with me. “You are not changing the message, you are changing the method. God’s Word doesn’t change, the approach does.” 1 Peter 3:15b Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

Universal Studios… Here We Come

After lunch we prepared for our journey to Universal Studios. It was very hot with a temperature of 92 degrees and a heat index of 102 degrees at 1:40 p.m. Everyone was tired before we even arrived at Universal, so a quick nap was enjoyed by several students.

Divide and Conquer

They quickly woke up as we arrived and entered the park. The students had a choice of going to either Universal Studios Orlando or Islands of Adventure. The group divided and off we went. I ended up with the roller coaster riding group (by choice). I LOVE a good roller coaster.

WET!!!!!!

Not sure who started us off with a water ride, but we definitely got WET!!!!!

The HULK

You can tell how wet we were as we waited in line to ride the Hulk. I took my shoes off and squeezed the water out of my socks.

Oh Well, Live and Learn

Some rides just weren’t worth the wait. If you can hold on to your phone and still ride, it might be to TAME. It was NOT worth getting my feet wet again.

Velocicoaster

The Velocicoaster was a FAVORITE for all of us. We rode multiple times. The single rider line is the quickest way to get on rides and we took advantage of it. No Phones Allowed!

Hagrid’s Ride

It was my first time to ride Hagrid’s Motorbike ride. We were only able to ride once due to the time left until the park closed, but I WILL be riding again. I’m not so sure about Hannah, my sidecar passenger. We had great fun just talking and enjoying watching the students entertain themselves.

Slow down and Enjoy the scenery (next time)

It was fun just to walk through the park looking at the buildings and décor. I need to go back and spend more time just wandering around without racing from ride to ride.

Dr. Seuss

Quick run through Dr. Seuss Land for some pictures.

Universal Studios Group

I only got a few pictures from the group that went to the other park, but they had a GREAT time.

Ice Cream Dinner for the Win

Our group waited till the very end to spend our food voucher. I ate so healthy and ended up getting Coldstone on Universal City Walk. I walked and ate almost all the way back to the bus before handing it off to Andy to finish. Too much food at 9:00 p.m.!!!

Hotel Bound

The journey back to the hotel was full of singing and hyped up kiddos.

Short Debrief then Pool Fun

Then we had a short debrief before being telling the students they could end the night in the pool. I think Bro. Brad and Andy had as much fun as the students. I took my last picture at 10:00 and went inside to get ready for bed.
